Saddleback caterpillar (Acharia stimulea)

I found this beautiful specimen in Inglis Florida last night, it was eating a palm tree frond. This caterpillar can deliver a very painful irritation due to it’s venemous urticulating spines. The large moth that this metamorphosizes into is not very pretty though, it’s just plain brown.
